Folklore, femininity and the inner world.
I'm an artist and illustrator based in Dunfermline, Fife, working in ink, watercolour and pencil. My work explores folklore, spirituality and the emotional world of women through detailed figures, animals and natural forms. Fine lines and layered textures bring together tenderness, grit and a sense of something beyond the everyday.
Selected work
All workThe practice
Women, animals, botanical forms and imagined worlds, drawn in detailed fineliner with stippling, crosshatching and organic linework, and carried into watercolour and pencil.
The work draws on folklore and spirituality to look at feminine experience — protection and vulnerability, strength and emotional intensity.
